Nominet is operated by more than 100 staff, including a senior management team, and managed by a Board including executive directors. Each of our Departments focuses on the day-to-day operation of the company and include Customer Services, Operations Support, Technical, Legal, Marketing and Communication and Finance.
As a private, public purpose company we have approximately 3,000 members as opposed to shareholders, and pay no dividends. We are not a governing or regulatory body, but provide a public service for the .uk, .wales and .cymru namespaces on behalf of the UK internet community.
We recognise that our responsibilities to this community are wide and varied, so we consult regularly with our stakeholders on any changes in policy. The Secretariat manages the policy development process and is the primary point of contact for stakeholders. It also supports the operations of the issue groups and manages communications and dialogue between the issue groups and the broader stakeholder community throughout the process.
