Do you fit?

Different yet the same!

Every individual working here is very different, and that is exactly how we like it and how we think it should be. It is the diversity of the people within Nominet that makes us so successful. We know that each and every one of us in some way has a positive impact on people’s lives, like a puzzle whose unique pieces fit together to make a truly amazing picture. One thing we all have in common is the desire to do our part in making that picture, our vision a reality, both now and in the future.

Is this the place and role for you?

When seeking the very best people for our team, we look for people who are right for the job and who will make a good culture fit. This means people who are as excited to work with us as we are with them. Is this you? The following questions are designed to help you decide:

Q: Why are you applying to Nominet?

There are a number of things that make working for Nominet unique. Ask yourself if you would be motivated in a not for profit environment with no sales targets where doing the right thing is important. Consider if you are driven by the needs of customers rather than personal needs and how you would put public purpose at the heart of what you do.

Our team like to communicate and relish opportunities to put things across clearly. Are you happy to question the way things are done, to listen and adapt? Does the job description offer all that you are looking for? Could you  proactively challenge and drive your own development?

Q: Is this the right position for you to do your best work?

Are you especially adept at your own skills set? And if so, does the role on offer provide you with the chance to exploit these and even push them further? Check your skills against the role you are applying for. It may be that the job is not the right one for you: perhaps you don’t have the right skills for the role, or the role doesn’t require the right skills from you.

Q: Are you right for People Management at Nominet?

If you are looking for a management position consider whether:

  • Managing others excites you?
  • You enjoy bringing out the best in others?
  • You are happy to let others find the answers?
