Use this command to mark domain names that the registrant does not want to renew. The domain name will expire and be cancelled in the normal way but the registrant will not receive renewal reminders from Nominet.
Marking a domain name that the registrant does not want to renew
- In the domains section on the start page, click Go. This will load the domain list.
- In the domain list, select the domain name(s) you wish to change and click Mark Not Required.
(If you click Mark Not Required without selecting any domain names, a text box appears in which you can enter a line-delimited custom list of domain names to mark as not required.)
- Verify that the details of the modification are correct, then click Mark Domains Not Required > to mark the domain name(s) as not required.
Additional
- The registrant will receive an email from Nominet to advise them that their domain name will not be renewed.
- This command will fail if the 'auto-bill' or 'next-bill' fields are set.
- To undo this command, either you or the registrant can send a renew command. The renew not required command will be ignored and the domain name will be renewed.
