Web domain manager is an online system for registrars to carry out domain name operations.

The system will allow registrars to log in and carry out functions such as registering new domain names and renewing existing domain names in a web browser environment.  Web domain manager has been developed to complement our existing registrar systems; EPP and the automaton, and will be implemented in a number of phases. New functionality will be added at each stage. A detailed development roadmap is available in the system but can be simplified as:
  • Phase 1 - Launch system - 25 June 2008

Phase one essentially introduces the system with the core functionality of creating and renewing domain names. Domain name and account data can be viewed, listed and downloaded. Domain data including nameservers, billing information and domain notes can be modified. Account data such as registrant details can not be modified in this release.
  • Phase 2 - Q4 2008

Introduces functionality to modify accounts and contacts as well as releasing/cancelling domain names.
  • Phase 3

Allows merging and forking of domain accounts to allow flexible management of account data.
  • Phase 4

Introduces functions to implement and modify handshake settings.

Web domain manager operates within online services. If you have a registrar service (a Nominet tag) the web domain manager will be accessible to all admin and tag admin contacts.  When you login to online services, web domain manager can be found in the registrar section.
