After the success of last year’s Great .uk Prize Draw we have launched a new promotion, proudly .uk

What is proudly .uk?

Proudly .uk is a prize draw competition that has been put together by us to help you promote .uk registrations and renewals.

When registering or renewing a .uk domain, your customers can enter a draw to win tickets to some of Britain’s best events - Six Nations rugby tickets, seats at Wimbledon and tickets for a theatre experience in London’s iconic West End.

There are also daily ticketmaster vouchers to be won.

How to take part

All you need to do (as a registrar) to take part is sign up by completing our online form before 3 October. We will send you an asset pack shortly after you have signed up to assist you with advertising the promotion.

Giving you the assets you’ll need

Here’s how to ensure you get the most out of the proudly .uk prize draw:

Add a "Yes, enter me in the competition" button/tick box to your registration or renewals process.

One of the quickest and easiest ways to encourage your customers to enter the competition is to add a "Yes, enter me in the competition, I have read and accept the terms and conditions" button/ tick box to your .uk registration or renewal process. You’ll then need to send this data to us, along with your customers’ registration details, so we can add them to the other entries.

Post sale confirmation

Alternatively, if you are unable to add an entry tick box to your registration or renewal process, you can invite customers to enter after they have registered or renewed their .uk domain name. Simply include a proudly.uk link on your sales confirmation page or email invoice. This link will take them to an entry page that we host, where they can submit their details to enter the proudly.uk draw. We have also provided a button for this purpose in the asset pack.

All you have to do is:
  • add one of our proudly.uk links (copy or banner) in your purchase confirmation
  • link this to our proudly.uk entry page (this will be sent to you two weeks prior to the promotion launch on 3 October)
Include the copy blocks in your registration confirmation emails

Your registration confirmation emails are the perfect place to invite your customers to enter the draw. You can link each of the copy blocks directly to the entry page, making it easy for them to take part. We will email you the entry page URL before the prize draw starts on the 3 October 2011.

Send out the promotional email to your database

We’ve created an email for you to send to your customers and prospects that tells them all about the competition. Simply brand this with your own logo and send it out.

Feature the banner ads on your web site

We’ve created four banner ad formats (MPU, leaderboard, skyscraper and button) for you to place on your website. They’re designed to tell your customers about the competition and encourage them to register or renew their .uk domain with you. They can link directly to the entry page or to your sales/registration pages.

Managing the process for you

We’ll take care of all the entry registrations. We’ll also review all submitted entries against their purchased .uk domain (please note: one valid entry per .uk domain), pick the winners at random each week and look after all prizes and delivery. There’s no need for you to worry about anything.

The competition will run for a total of eight weeks from 3 October 2011, so you’ll need to be ready to promote the competition to your customers for the start date. The winners will be emailed and announced on the Nominet site and we’ll also inform you if any of your customers win. Please do not publicise this promotion before the prize draw starts.

Twitter

What makes you proud to be a .UK? This year registrars have an additional tool to promote the Proudly.UK promotion via Twitter.

There will be £200 worth of Red Letter Day Vouchers up for grabs for the best tweet that comes up with what makes them proud to be a .uk and includes #proudlyuk.

The competition will run alongside the Proudly.UK prize draw. The winner will be decided at the end of the competition and announced via Twitter and on our web site.

How to take part

All you need to do is tweet the following throughout the competition:

What makes you proud to be a .UK? Tweet your answer, #proudlyuk and @<registrar twitter profile> for a chance to win Red Letter Day Vouchers . Ts & Cs bit.ly/qGHsjo

Please note we have been working with an external marketing agency, Banner. They will be looking after certain elements of the promotion on our behalf.

If you’d like more information about the competition or help in implementing any of the above, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our Customer Services Department at
