Both the Transferor and Transferee must send signed confirmatory letters agreeing to the transfer of the domain name on their headed paper. Nominet needs the following information to be given in confirmatory letters:
The signatures for Transferor and Transferee must be from different people.
In the case of a UK incorporated company you should ensure that reference is made to the full registered company name, registered address and registered company number. This is in accordance with the Companies Act 1985.
An unincorporated company letterhead should refer to the name(s) of the proprietor or partners and also the full legal trading name and trading address.
If either the Transferor or Transferee is an individual, they must write their confirmatory letter on plain paper and include their home address and the address they provided at the time of registration. The Transferor should also provide us with a copy of their driving license or a recent utility bill addressed to them at their home address.
Please ensure that the letter includes a statement confirming the signatories’ agreement to the transfer of the specific domain name(s) or appendix reference code and please feel free to use the confirmatory letter to advise us of any other relevant information such as changes to contact details.
Return the completed transfer form together with the completed remittance and payment details by post, along with the two confirmatory letters, to Nominet, Minerva House, Edmund Halley Road, Oxford Science Park, Oxford, United Kingdom, OX4 4DQ.
