A complete Application (pdf) for the creation of soc.uk was received by Nominet UK in June 2001. This proposal was submitted by Dr W Black.

In accordance with the published procedure for the creation of new SLDs, Nominet UK issued a written recommendation in response (pdf) to the application. The applications and recommendation of the Nominet executive were considered at the meeting of the Policy Advisory Board on 1 August 2001.
