This plug-in can be installed in the Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla (Seamonkey) browsers only. It allows a WHOIS search to be made directly within the browser. In Firefox you can select the plug-in from the search box on the toolbar, and in Mozilla (Seamonkey) you can access the plug-in from the sidebar or the location bar. The plug-in is installed on the above browsers by clicking on the link below. It uses JavaScript to automatically copy the two files (the script and an image) to the correct location within your browser’s profile directly, without the need for a restart of the browser. To install this plug-in, you will need JavaScript turned on.
Install the Nominet WHOIS search plug-in for Firefox and Mozilla Suite browsers
Once the plug-in has been installed, queries can simply be typed into the search box and the results of the WHOIS query returned.
In Firefox, select the Nominet logo from the drop-down plug-in list, then type in the domain name in the form domain.suffix.uk e.g. nominet.org.uk. Click on 'Go' or press 'Enter' on your keyboard to run the search.
