Who is eligible?
The Public Register Search Service (PRSS) is available to everyone within the European Economic Area (EEA).

How much does it cost?
The Public Register Search Service costs £400 plus VAT per year.

How long does the application process take?
The application process takes 2 - 3 working days from the date of your application.

When does the contract begin?
Your contract begins on the date we notify you that we have accepted your application to use the Public Register Search Service.  The contract continues indefinitely unless terminated or suspended, in accordance with its terms and conditions.

When will the fee be charged?
If you are a Nominet registrar the fee will be charged to your credit account (as supplied on your application).  Our standard 30 day credit terms and conditions will apply to our invoice.

If you are not a Nominet registrar you should pay us when you receive our invoice.

Where will my invoice be sent?
The invoice will be sent to the name and address that you supplied on your application.

Who do I contact for help?
Support for the Public Register Search Service is only available during office hours; on Monday - Thursday  from  8.00am to 5.30pm, and on Friday from 8.00am to 4.30pm.  It is not covered by our out of hours service.

How many queries can I make?
You are allowed to view a maximum of 21,000 results per week.

How do I know when I have been blocked?
Your quota is displayed at the top of the results page.  You will receive an additional message informing you that you have reached your limit when any subsequent queries are made.

How do I unsubscribe?
You can use our online service to send a secure message to us asking us to unsubscribe you from the Public Register Search Service.

Alternatively if you are a Nominet registrar you can send a PGP signed email to .
 
How do I update my contact details?
You can use our online service to update your contact details.

How up to date is the PRSS?
The Public Register Search Service runs on the main register and so is always completely up to date.

How do I change my password?
You can use our online service to change your password.

Will my history expire?
The history will store up to 1000 searches. Once you reach this number, the oldest stored search will be replaced.

Can I delete my history?
No, you are not able to delete your history.

How do I add searches to my Favourites?
From the results screen, click the 'Add Query to Favourites' button.

How can I change what fields I see in my results?
From any screen, click on the 'Options' button and select the optional fields you want to display.

Can I stay logged in all day?
If you log in and do not use the system for 30 minutes you will be logged out automatically.

How many login attempts do I get?
There is currently no limit on the number of login attempts.
