Our member forum has replaced our previous nom-steer discussion email list.
The member forum is used to debate issues relating to Nominet, the Domain Name System and, in particular, the work of the Policy Advisory Body (PAB).
Members are encouraged to take part in discussions on the member forum however subscription to the forum is optional. Not all members will participate. As such, the views expressed on the member forum may not represent the majority of the membership. There are a set of rules that set out the terms for use of the Nominet Member Forum.
The Nominet Board, PAB representatives and our management team read and contribute to the forum, although their views should not be construed as official statements. Additionally all of our staff are able to access the member forum however they do not usually contribute in either a personal or formal capacity. Staff and senior managers will not usually respond to questions on the forum, although we may occasionally post to the forum in order to clarify facts and correct any inaccuracies in discussions.
Sometimes, the Nominet management team will respond to individual posters outside of the forum in order to request further information or clarify the viewpoint that has been expressed.
Some members of the Nominet Board and the Policy Advisory Body will subscribe to the member forum. Their contributions to the discussions may represent their own personal views on issues and should not be construed as official Nominet statements.
Appointed representatives of the Policy Advisory Body - who are not members of Nominet - are also able to subscribe to the forum if they wish to.
Candidates who are standing for election to the Nominet Board or the Policy Advisory Body - and who are not members of Nominet - may subscribe to the forum in the run-up to the election.
