Nominet HR strategy strengthened as it continues to play an ever important role at the heart of UK Internet industry.

9th May 2007 - Nominet, the .uk domain name registry, has appointed Gill Crowther as Director of Human Resources.
With a remit to assist the strategic development and growth of Nominet’s business, Crowther joins Nominet with over 10 years experience in large multinational companies and three years senior consulting experience. She will work with the Nominet management team to develop and implement the company’s HR strategy as it plays an ever more important role in the UK Internet industry.
Before joining Nominet, Crowther enjoyed senior HR positions at Ford, GlaxoWellcome UK and Microsoft Ltd. In 2002 Crowther was appointed ‘Head of Great Managers and Great HR Practice’ at Microsoft where she developed the company’s entire HR team and was responsible for Microsoft’s Manager and Leader development strategy.
Following her role at Microsoft, Crowther established her own company, Great Managers. As Managing Director of the company, Crowther worked in a consultant role with major organisations including Barclays, Bromford Housing and Thomson.
On her new role, Crowther states: "Nominet is recognised as one of the leading employers in the UK technology sector. The organisation is in a strong position to lead the UK Internet Industry and I am looking forward to using the experience gained in my previous positions to help the development of Nominet and its employees as it cements its position as a shaper of the UK Internet industry."
