We have made a change to our welcome email system. When a domain name is registered, the registrant receives an email giving details of their Nominet online services account. The email also contains the registrar name and a URL link to their web site. Following feedback from registrars we have now set a 48 hour delay in sending this email to registrants. This will allow registrars time to send any of their own confirmations, set up account details and allow nameserver records to propagate.

We are developing further enhancements to the welcome email system that will allow registrars to personalise our welcome email with their own text and a link. This will be set in the registrars online services account. This further development is scheduled to be launched in spring 2008.
