    Following a successful pilot, two-factor authentication access is now available for registrars via Nominet’s online services.Two-factor authentication is a two-step verification process and provides an extra layer of security to users accessing online systems. It improves account security as an intruder would have to gain access to the device where it is installed, as well as knowing the password. This reduces the risk of DNS hijacking or confidential information being compromised.

    Nominet, the internet company best known for running the .UK web domain infrastructure, has confirmed a £3 million charitable donation to Nominet Trust.Nominet established Nominet Trust in 2008 with the proceeds from its successful registry business. This year’s amount brings the total Nominet has donated to the Trust to £35 million.
