Nominet offers news feeds so that you can be informed when we have updated areas of the web site. A newsfeed is simply a link to a source of constantly updating content or data.
You can add any of our news feeds to an aggregator, which is a program that handles news feeds from multiple sites (for more about aggregators, see our "What is an aggregator?" section on the right).
To add a news feed, simply subscribe using one of the methods listed in the table below:-
We offer news feeds in a variety of standards so that we are compatible with as many news readers as possible. If you are not sure which one to add, we would suggest trying the RSS 2.0 feed first, as the majority of modern aggregators are compatible with this version.
If you use Firefox 1.5 (or above), Internet Explorer 7 or Opera, clicking on a link to an RSS feed will show you a set of options, either to subscribe to the feed within the browser, or to add the feed to one of several online news readers.
Please note however, that in older versions of IE, Firefox, and Safari, clicking on an RSS link will result in the browser simply displaying some code - this is the XML code that a "newsfeed reader" interprets. In any of these circumstances you can instead copy the link to the relevant news feed, and paste it into a subscribe or add subscription box in your feed reader.
This is by no means an exhaustive list, the wikipedia article for aggregators lists several others.
We encourage the use of Nominet RSS feeds on other sites, however Nominet content must be properly attributed. Any Nominet RSS feed or Nominet content on your site must incorporate an attribution (credit) to us in the following form:
"This content/article is from Nominet/nominet.org.uk" (delete as applicable)
If you are displaying a Nominet RSS feed in a context where a functional link back to the article on Nominet's web site is not possible then you must use the following attribution (credit):
From nominet.org.uk
You may not use any Nominet logo or other Nominet trade mark.
We reserve the right to prevent the distribution of Nominet content and Nominet does not accept any liability for its feeds. Please see our Standard Licence Terms for full details.
Nominet's RSS feeds and any Nominet content contained in the Nominet RSS feeds may only be displayed on web sites that do not fall into any one or more of the categories listed below. A site will be deemed to fall within one of the following categories where there is a material and prominent section of the Site that falls within such category.
