Description

ENUM is an exciting technological development that will enable cheaper or even free telephone calls in the near future. ENUM is the technology that enables VoIP calls across different networks without the need for connection to the telephone network. Using the domain name system (DNS) calls can be routed via the Internet and are therefore free. An ENUM is the name given to the domain name that represents a telephone number. To register ENUMS, registrars must be accredited and familiar with Extensible Provisioning Protocol.
