When we set an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), when we enforce it, or when we decide whether an event falls inside or outside of it, we work on the following principles, which are the core purposes of our Acceptable Use Policies. The purpose of an AUP is to ensure that:
- no copy is made of a significant part of the register or other database we hold;
- we protect the personal data held within our systems;
- services are only used as intended ;
- all users comply with the limits set on their access to our systems;
- we do not put our systems at risk; and
- our general policies (e.g. on pricing, fees, privacy, data protection and access) are not compromised.
Note that we have a standard clause on
anti-avoidance and connected persons that forms part of all of our AUPs.
