What is the Procedure?
The Dispute Resolution Service (DRS) Procedure is part of the
contract of registration for.uk domains. It sets out the detailed rules that we and the parties to the dispute must follow as the dispute progresses. The other half of the DRS is the
DRS Policy, which sets out principles. We also have a
booklet that provides an overview.
Who should read the Procedure? All registrants of .uk domain names are encouraged to read the Procedure, as it affects them. It is most relevant to anyone who is involved (or thinking of starting) a DRS dispute, as it explains what documents you need to send that the timescales for doing it. The DRS is a formal process with strict timescales so you should be sure you understand them before getting involved, if you can. Remember too that there is a lot of specific help in the
help section of this site.
Can I have a copy? Where is it?Yes. It is available in a
pdf version or in
normal website text.
Has this version always applied? Will it always apply? This is version 2 of the current DRS.
Version 1 used to apply from September 2001 to October 2004. There is a
consultation about future changes to the DRS which may lead to changes in 2007.
