What is the Policy?
The Dispute Resolution Service (DRS) Policy is part of the contract of registration for.uk domains. It sets out the policy ideas and a general overview of the structure and purpose of the DRS. The other half of the DRS is the DRS Procedure, which sets out the more detailed rules about the operation of the DRS. We also have a booklet that provides an overview.
Who should read the Policy? All registrants of .uk domain names are encouraged to read the Policy, as it affects them. You should also read the Policy if you are involved in a DRS dispute, or thinking of starting one, as it explains what you need to prove (or disprove) to succeed. Remember too that there is a lot of specific help in the
help section of this site.
Can I have a copy? Where is it?Yes. It is available in a
pdf version or in
normal website text.
Has this version always applied? Will it always apply? This is version 2 of the current DRS.
Version 1 used to apply from September 2001 to October 2004.
There is a consultation about future changes to the DRS which may lead to changes in 2007.
