The technical team is responsible for the operation of Nominet's core information infrastructure and the design, implementation and maintenance of the .uk register database and related services.

About the opportunity
We are in a time of exciting strategic change and are looking to recruit a new Director of IT to help deliver this transformation, as well as ensuring that Nominet continues to take a leading role in the development of the global domain name system and technical standards and protocols. This role reports to the Chief Executive, is a member of the Senior Management Team and leads a technical team of over 30 employees.
Key tasks
- As a key member of the Senior Management Team, contribute to strategic development and to the success of the business.
- Develop the IT strategy to contribute to the delivery of the business strategy.
- Manage and develop the IT systems and IT department of the company in order to support the company’s current and future objectives.
- Drive forward new business opportunities for the company.
You are
- Educated to degree level or equivalent with experience at IT director level
- An internet expert
- Equipped with excellent people management & influencing skills
- A skilled strategic & operational player
- Pragmatic with attention to detail
- Able to exhibit strong business acumen
- A strong team player
- Ideally MBA qualified or with broad business experience
